Sensors by Hoffmann + Krippner: flat, durable and sealed
Sensofoil® potentiometer can be easily customized according to specific requirements. Due to their flat design of 0.5mm to 4mm, they are the ideal solution for restricted installation conditions. The technical specifications correspond to those of conventional precision potentiometers or even surpass these. Depending on the various parameters, the life cycle can range up to 20 million cycles. Besides offering an attractive cost advantage, our membrane potentiometers can be custom designed according to required length and angles to be conveniently integrated into existing applications. By relying on various pastes, the resistance value can be adjusted in-house according to customer requirements.
If a stepless Sensofoil® potentiometer instead of a conventional switch is integrated into an application, the number of conductive paths may potentially be reduced. Another advantage is the lower development and manufacturing cost compared to standard potentiometers and sensors. Based on customer requirements, Hoffmann + Krippner develops and produces in-house and supplies corresponding evaluation electronics and software if requested.
Sensofoil® potentiometers are mostly used as actual value transmitters in medical technology applications, actuator systems, street car doors, test systems as well as various other applications. They transmit an analogue signal, proportional to the distance or angle to be measured. Sensors by Hoffmann + Krippner are also used as set point generator in input devices (e.g. hand held controls). Integration in control units allows for fully sealed surfaces according to IP65. Operation with gloves is no longer an issue and the appropriate wiper can also be used.
